Registered Nurse & Trauma Coordinator - Emergency Services

Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Trauma Coordinator (RN Coordinator) – responsible for providing patient care and coordinating nursing services in a trauma setting.

• Collaborate with physicians and inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the continuum: assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Plan and coordinate nursing interventions, patient education, and triage.
• Maintain professional communication and promote high-quality patient care.
• Support unit operations: rounding, bedside reporting, and process improvement.
• Perform patient education, identify learning needs, and conduct staff surveys.
• Manage supplies and equipment safely, achieve efficiency with other departments, and apply lean processes.
• Document and report data to track patient safety metrics such as falls and medication discrepancies.
• Attend regularly and maintain competency requirements.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Five years of recent progressive nursing experience, including charge nurse duties.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice; eligibility for multistate licensure if applicable.
• Completion of required department-specific competencies and certifications.

• Union position – Yes.
• Annual salary range: $34.00 – $51.76 per hour.
• Weekly hours: 40.
• Shift start times: 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; shift lengths: 8, 10, and 12 hours.
• Overtime paid for all hours over the scheduled shift or 40 hours per week.
• Position is salaried; no overtime is calculated beyond the scheduled shift or 40 hours per week.
