Assistant Professor of Instruction, Nursing, Non-Tenure Track

Ohio University Southern invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Nursing, a non-tenure-track faculty position focused on laboratory and/or clinical instruction in the traditional on-campus AAS-N and BSN programs. This full-time, 9-month renewable position begins Fall Semester 2026 (August 16, 2026) on the Southern campus in Ironton, Ohio.

• Meet with course faculty to develop course, clinical, and laboratory expectations for students.
• Identify student needs in terms of clinical and laboratory objectives of the relevant course(s).
• Provide instruction to students in laboratory/simulation settings or at clinical sites regarding professional attitudes, knowledge, and skills.
• Assist students in using problem-solving techniques.
• Use varied and appropriate teaching methods effectively.
• Collaborate with course faculty to measure and evaluate student performance in the laboratory and/or clinical setting.
• Participate in additional teaching assignments as needed; scholarship participation is not required.

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) by the start date.
• Enrollment or commitment to complete an MSN within 2 years of hire.
• Active, unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in place prior to start).
• Minimum of 24 months full-time equivalent of RN work experience in the United States.

• 3+ years of clinical RN experience.
• 3+ years of clinical and/or laboratory instruction in a nursing program.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or related field.
