Electrician Journeyman – Bismarck, Missouri Plant

The Electrician Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the granule manufacturing plant. The role ensures safe and reliable operation of plant machinery, motors, control systems, instrumentation, and facility electrical systems while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.
• Diagnose and correct electrical failures using testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain and repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, switches, and related electrical components.
• Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and work orders in Maximo (CMMS).
• Collaborate with operators, production personnel, and maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues.

• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent trade qualification.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing, processing, or industrial plant operations preferred.
• Experience implementing electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley AC Drives, Control Logix PLC, and relay logic is an asset.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and testing PLC automated circuits, motors, and motor control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical safety codes and instrumentation sensors.
• Comfortable learning computer‑based maintenance software (Maximo knowledge is a plus).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to lead, guide, and mentor junior electricians.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to work in a team with other tradesmen.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in dust, noise, heat and moving equipment, climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces as required.
• Willingness to work rotating shift, holidays, and overtime.

The Electrician Journeyman must prioritize safety, comply with all company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and procedural guidelines, and ensure safe and compliant operations at all times. This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout, lockout/tagout and other safety protocols.

Competitive pay of $44.00 per hour.
