Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Irvine, California. This role involves managing invoice processing, payment schedules, and supporting various accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

- Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and received goods to ensure accuracy.

- Input invoice data into accounting software and maintain detailed records of transactions.

- Support monthly financial closings by preparing accrual batches and reconciling accounts payable.

- Select invoices for payment and prepare weekly check runs, ensuring payments align with cash flow needs.

- Process expense reports by cross-checking receipts and preparing payments accordingly.

- Prepare and execute wire transfers and other payment methods with appropriate approvals.

- Maintain a detailed and up-to-date cash log to track transactions.

- File completed accounts payable checks and reports systematically for easy access.

- Assist with year-end audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and support.

- Adhere to internal controls and accounting standards to ensure compliance. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

- Proficiency in using accounting software for invoice processing and payment management.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify data against purchase orders and receipts.

- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and professionalism.

- Familiarity with preparing wire transfers and managing cash flow.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers.
