We are seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant to join our team. This role will be deeply embedded in cost accounting and will play a hands‑on role in month‑end close, inventory and cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The right person will be comfortable operating in a partially manual environment while helping move the organization toward more automated, scalable processes.
This position is onsite in our Irvine, CA office and reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting

- Manage month‑end close process related to inventory accounting, including journal entry preparation and review, income statement variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
- Manage inventory accounting, including standard cost rate calculation and review, cost absorption and variance analysis, cost and profitability reviews as assigned, and manage physical inventory counts
- Calculate and record the capitalization of inventory variances – PPV/IPV, over/under absorption
- Ensure and record reasonable estimate of inventory obsolescence reserve in accordance with company policies
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to inventory, purchase price variances and manufacturing absorption variances
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing teams
- Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and transformation initiatives
- Analyze monthly variances to budget/forecast
- Investigate manufacturing related problems and variances, inventory transaction issues, and scrap & cycle count
- Organize complex data utilizing advanced Excel and database skills
- Ad‑hoc analysis
- Work directly with audit and tax team related to inventory accounting
- Provide periodic reporting to outside parties, such as banks and government agencies
- Continuously improve, streamline, and automate work processes, reports, and analyses
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Deep experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting
- ERP experience required (manufacturing ERPs strongly preferred)
- Understanding of US GAAP and methodologies for technical research
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally
- Comfortable in environments undergoing change and modernization
Annual Salary: $92,400.00 - $
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
