Accounting ClerkFULLTIME: Possible temp to hireLOCATION: Irvine, CA (On-site)
PAY RANGE: $20-25/HR(Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base pay information is based on market location.)
Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the company by performing a variety of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties. This role ensures that financial data is entered accurately, records are maintained according to policy, and transactions are processed in a timely manner to support the overall health of the accounting department.
Core Responsibilities
- Accurately process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger entries.
- Maintain and update accounting databases and spreadsheets with high attention to detail.
- Perform basic bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure internal records match external statements.
- Organize and maintain financial files, receipts, and invoices for audit readiness and internal tracking.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding payment status and assist customers with billing inquiries.
- Assist the senior accounting team in preparing weekly or monthly financial summaries and reports.
- Education:
High school diploma required;
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred. - Experience:
1-3 years of experience in an office or clerical setting (accounting experience is a plus). - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or an ERP system). - Attributes:
Strong organizational skills, high level of accuracy, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
- The ability to lift up to 30lbs
