Job Summary

Red Tail Acquisitions is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Senior Project Accountant to join our Corporate Office team in Irvine, CA. This full‑time role will support project and construction accounting functions across the organization, including capital project tracking, lender draw packages, budget reconciliations, job costing, loan reporting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience with Yardi Voyager and construction or project accounting is strongly preferred.

Job Description
  • Assist evaluation of appropriate improvements to project accounting processes, ensuring relevance and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and provide training and support for Project Accountants, including procedures, reporting requirements, and system processes.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management and Facility Management teams to address questions and provide support related to project accounting matters.
  • Review capital invoices for accuracy, appropriate job coding, budget availability, and lien waivers.
  • Monthly close‑out of reserve/capital draws; reconcile activity to the renovation budget.
  • Create comprehensive draw packages for lender submission, including AIA documents, site supervision invoices, and expense reimbursements.
  • Review processing of leasing commissions and tenant improvement invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with terms of lease.
  • Post debt service payments to general ledger; reconcile monthly loan statements.
  • Property tax payment scheduling, processing and posting of payments.
  • Manage insurance claim receipts and lender draw process from initiation through resolution.
  • Process and track submissions of lender reporting packets per loan covenants.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for land development operations.
  • Liaise with international team members and review deliverables for accuracy and completion.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Experience/Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3‑5 years of accounting experience. Construction background welcome but not required.
  • Proficiency with accounting management systems;
    Yardi Voyager experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with job costing and budget management;
    Yardi Job Cost/Construction Manager experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
