About the Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established and growing real estate company, is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant (A/R) to join their collaborative accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and looking to grow within a stable and professional real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day accounts receivable functions including invoicing, cash applications, and payment posting.
- Prepare and distribute tenant invoices, statements, and billing adjustments.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances in a professional and timely manner.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
- Reconcile A/R subledger to the general ledger and assist with month‑end close.
- Process and record incoming payments (ACH, checks, wires, online payments).
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Assist with tenant account reconciliations and reporting for property management teams.
- Support accounting team with ad‑hoc reporting, audit preparation, and special projects.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with property management, leasing, and finance teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1‑3 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus).
- Experience with accounting or property management software preferred (Yardi, MRI, App Folio, or similar).
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary range available upon request. Eligible for discretionary bonuses and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
