Senior Accountant – Revenue
Location: Irvine, CA
About the roleAre you an accounting professional who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence? The Senior Revenue Accountant plays a critical role within the finance team, ensuring the integrity of revenue recognition, contract accounting, and financial reporting. Based in our Irvine office on a hybrid basis, you’ll help support the month‑end close, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure our revenue processes align with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Your work will enable data‑driven decisions and support the Company’s mission of connecting communities through innovative network solutions.
- Revenue Accounting & Compliance
- Perform and review revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 842 (i.e., lease revenue).
- Analyze customer contracts, identifying performance obligations, variable consideration, and contract modifications.
- Maintain detailed contract documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Prepare monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support external auditors by preparing revenue‑related schedules and audit evidence.
- Month‑End Close & Reporting
- Assist with month‑end revenue close activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare monthly revenue reporting and analysis for management.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in revenue, billing, and deferred revenue balances.
- Partner with Billing, Sales Operations, and FP&A to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
- Cross‑Functional Support & Systems Support
- Support system enhancements and integrations, including Workday and revenue sub‑ledgers.
- Drive continuous improvements across revenue processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand billing milestones, project progress, and revenue impacts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA‑track preferred.
- 3‑5+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or audit.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606, ASC 842, and revenue recognition principles.
- Experience in telecommunications, technology, or project‑based revenue environments preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP and revenue systems preferred (Workday experience a plus).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- High integrity and commitment to strong internal controls.
- Competitive salary range $90,000–$110,000
