The Property Management Accounting Associate is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Irvine, CA. This position supports property and corporate accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial real‑estate assets. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, recording and reconciling tenant billings and payments, and preparing journal entries and monthly bank reconciliations. The associate will assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, CAM and operating expense reconciliations, and maintenance of accurate general ledger records.
The role also involves coordinating with property managers, tenants, and vendors to resolve billing issues, supporting budget and forecast preparation, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Foundational accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting or property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar), and strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with property managers, tenants, and vendors.
- Experience or coursework in real estate, property management, or commercial real estate accounting is preferred.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records and confidential information.
- Commercial Property Management experience required.
