As a Resources Business Group Accountant at HDR, you will provide detailed financial analysis and reporting on projects and business units, support technical project management activities, and serve as a critical liaison for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on project, program, or business unit status within an established system of project controls.
- Create and maintain project baseline budgets, work package agreements, cost estimates, and earned value management (EVM) reports.
- Analyze and monitor cost variance, schedule stability, and contractual compliance.
- Support risk and opportunity management by integrating financial data with project schedules and budgets.
- Represent the organization in project reviews and technical assessments.
- Coordinate project accounting functions, including subcontractor financial management and revenue recognition.
- Assist with client proposal reviews and the contract initiation process.
- Prepare and maintain monthly forecasts, cost bills, and ad‑hoc financial reports.
- Supervise project accountants as required.
- Collaborate with Corporate Payroll to ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
- Participate in annual budgeting and financial planning activities for the business unit.
- Perform other duties and ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience.
- Proficient in building and maintaining project schedules, cost plans, and spend plans using various project controls tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and telephone etiquette.
- Strong prioritization, multitasking, and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑motivated, well‑organized, and detail‑oriented.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Outlook).
- Commitment to actively participate in an employee‑owned culture.
