Accounting Manager (Temp-to-Hire)

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations. This role manages full-cycle accounting across multiple legal entities and locations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end close, and adherence to accounting standards. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment.

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for 5 legal entities and 50+ locations within the West Region, working across multiple accounting systems.
• Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness by prioritizing team workload and improving manual processes using advanced Excel tools (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Review and approve monthly journal entries, including:
  • Accrued revenue and expenses
  • Prepaid amortization
  • Fixed assets
  • Inventory
  • Payroll
  • Cash
  • Accounts receivable retention
  • Customer rebates
  • Intercompany transactions
• Partner with FP&A during monthly financial reviews to explain variances and financial results.
• Reconcile and clean up accrued sales and use tax accounts by state; support or dispute audit findings as needed.
• Manage and close sales and use tax audits, including successfully disputing audit assessments.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi‑entity or multi‑location environments.
• Prior experience in a managerial or lead accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with sales and use tax audits strongly preferred.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and meet tight deadlines.
