Description:
Our client, a growing organization, is seeking a VP of Accounting to lead the company's accounting function as it scales. Reporting directly to the CFO, this leader will oversee a multi-person accounting team and play a key role in strengthening infrastructure, reporting, and controls to support the company's continued growth. This is a high-visibility opportunity offering significant leadership exposure and a clear path for advancement.
The ideal candidate must have progressive accounting leadership experience, a strong background in building and scaling accounting processes, and a proven ability to lead and develop a team.

- Lead the accounting function, overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reporting packages and variance analyses to senior leadership.
- Own the design and maintenance of a strong internal controls environment, including documentation, testing, and remediation efforts.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external audit activities, managing deliverables and ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Research and document technical accounting matters, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and evolving accounting standards.
- Partner with operations and cross-functional leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Drive process improvement and system enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the accounting function.
- Evaluate and support the accounting implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and strategic transactions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, building organizational capability to support company growth.
- Communicate financial results and insights clearly to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Progressive accounting leadership experience is required
- CPA license is required
- Experience building or scaling accounting processes within a growing organization is strongly preferred
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
