Senior Accountant

A well-established publicly traded real estate investment trust in Irvine is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team, reporting to a Director of Accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant ready to take on meaningful responsibility within a sophisticated public company environment. You will own the full cycle of financial reporting for a key segment of the portfolio, with direct exposure to SEC reporting, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process for an assigned portfolio, including journal entries and financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with a focus on identifying trends and variances
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of reported figures
• Support quarterly SEC filings and external reporting deliverables
• Maintain documentation and controls in compliance with SOX requirements
• Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and meet reporting deadlines
• Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Public company, real estate, or healthcare experience preferred
• Expert-level Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines consistently

Compensation

• $105,000 to $120,000 base salary, plus generous cash incentive plan
• Hybrid schedule based out of the Irvine office
