Diality is a medical device company focused on developing solutions to improve the lives of those impacted by kidney disease. Diality offers the Moda-flx Hemodialysis System, a user-friendly, mobile, and connected hemodialysis system designed to maximize clinical flexibility and ease of use for both clinical and non-clinical users. The Moda-flx Hemodialysis system combines flow rate capabilities of conventional in-center dialysis devices with a fully integrated reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system to provide a broad range of prescriptions and meet the needs of any professional dialysis care setting.

The Senior Accountant supports Diality’s monthly close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory accounting, and internal control processes. The position works cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and completely and in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy. The Senior Accountant also supports Net Suite optimization and helps build scalable accounting procedures as Diality prepares for commercialization.

This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and is expected to develop into an Assistant Accounting Manager role as the accounting organization and commercial operations expand. The role is in the office with the possibility of a hybrid work structure.

Responsibilities Close and Financial Reporting
  • Own assigned portions of the monthly close.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform periodic bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data and recommend adjusting entries.
  • Prepare assigned components of monthly financial reporting and supporting schedules.
  • Support quarterly and year-end close activities, including audit schedules and financial statement support.
  • Prepare and maintain prepaid expense, accrual, and other assigned accounting schedules.
  • Support fixed-asset and capitalization accounting.
  • Analyze general-ledger accounts and investigate unusual, incomplete, or incorrectly coded transactions.
Inventory and Operations Accounting
  • Partner with Operations to ensure inventory and operational transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support standard or actual cost accounting, including maintenance of cost schedules and analysis of significant variances.
  • Prepare inventory reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Support cycle counts, inventory adjustments and period-end inventory cutoff.
  • Help develop accounting processes for future manufacturing and commercial inventory activities.
Systems, Data, and Process Improvement
  • Support continued optimization of Net Suite, including chart-of-accounts governance, transaction workflows, saved searches, reconciliations, reporting and accounting system controls.
  • Increase productivity by analyzing and interpreting data, making comparative analyses, and automating accounting applications.
  • Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting financial information in Net Suite and other applicable financial and operational systems.
Forecasting and Management Reporting
  • Provide accounting data and analysis supporting forecasts, budgets and management reporting, including explanations of actual-to-forecast variances.
  • Support management reporting by preparing assigned financial metrics and analyses.
Internal Controls, Audit, and Documentation
  • Execute assigned accounting controls and maintain evidence of performance.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Document accounting procedures and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Support external audit and tax requests.
Required Skills & Abilities Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting schedules.
  • Experience supporting monthly and year-end close.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Medical device, life sciences, or manufacturing experience.
  • Inventory and cost-accounting experience.
  • Experience in a venture-backed or pre-commercial company.
  • Experience supporting external audits and strengthening internal controls.
Travel
  • Less than 5%
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is predominantly in a sedentary, light office position with frequent typing and computer use. The employee must be able to pick up 30 pounds and often sit and stand.
