This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of working in the Irvine office 3-4 days per week.
- Own bi-weekly, multi-state payroll processing.
- Review payroll for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, commissions, bonuses, and garnishments.
- Partner with HR and the payroll provider to manage payroll cycles and resolve issues.
- Process off-cycle payments, manual checks, retroactive adjustments, and corrections.
- Monitor multi-state payroll tax requirements and registrations.
- Serve as the Finance administrator for the payroll system.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation for compliance and audits.
- Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2s, bonuses, and tax reconciliations.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and resolve variances.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Record monthly and quarterly bonus and sales commission accruals.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals, prepaids, and account analysis.
- Support internal and external audits with reconciliations and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and Finance initiatives.
- Help build scalable payroll and accounting processes as the U.S. organization grows.
- Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Has 5+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting.
- Experience processing and auditing multi-state payroll
- Working knowledge of multi-state payroll tax, wage and hour compliance, and payroll accounting principles.
