Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 + Bonus + Equity Location: Irvine, CA 92618 (Flexible Remote)

Description:
Our client, a privately held software company, is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day accounting function for a growing organization. This individual will report to the VP of Finance and will operate as an individual contributor with high visibility to senior finance leadership, playing a key role in owning month-end close, financial reporting, and the company's growing use of AI-driven finance workflows.
The ideal candidate must have public accounting experience, a strong foundation in US GAAP, and an interest in leveraging AI tools to modernize accounting processes.

- Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, and reconciliations
- Prepare timely, accurate financial statements and management reporting packages
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring the books remain audit-ready
- Develop and maintain internal controls and support documentation
- Leverage and improve AI-assisted finance workflows, with ownership over the accuracy of AI-generated outputs
- Support revenue recognition across multiple revenue streams in accordance with US GAAP
- Oversee sales tax compliance across a high-volume transaction environment
- Serve as a point of contact for client billing and invoicing inquiries
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and broader financial planning efforts
- Assist finance leadership with investor reporting and updates as needed
- Operate independently and effectively within a fully remote team structure
- Exercise strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Public accounting experience is required
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with or strong interest in AI-driven accounting tools and automation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
