Staff Accountant

Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Staff Accountant in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys detailed general ledger work, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will join a collaborative finance environment where accuracy, teamwork, and sound judgment are valued. • Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Reconcile bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial data summaries for review.
• Assist with budget preparation, including revenue and expense projections.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
• Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed while supporting internal controls.

• Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes.
• Assist with budgeting, audit preparation, and financial analysis.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and financial controls.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience, with 3 to 5 years preferred for this level.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and professional accounting practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  Ability to work independently, collaborate with a finance team, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.

• Experience using SAP.
• CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure.
• Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit schedules.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and internal control processes.
