Sr. Accountant

Apartments - Corporate (Apt Corp)

Responsible for applying consistent accounting principles and procedures to record and analyze financial information, maintain the integrity of the financial records, provide transparent and accurate financial information to Sr. Management, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure adherence to appropriate accounting control procedures.

• Job cost accounting functions for portfolio-wide operating capital including review of contract/purchase order coding and non-PO invoices
• Review capital spending approvals for coding and proper approvals based on Delegation of Authority
• Accounting functions including correction of coding errors and month end close responsibilities
• Understand and become department expert on GAAP and Tax capitalization guidelines
• Prepare and submit fixed asset capitalization file and retirement files
• Assist with division operating capital planning/forecasting
• Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations of asset and liability accounts
• Assist with audit requests as needed
• Responsible for timely and accurate ad-hoc reports as needed
• Leverage technology to improve current processes
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• BA or BS in Accounting
• 3+ years accounting experience, preferably in Real Estate Management
• CPA or MBA
• Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; self-motivated; ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience in report writing
• Ability to effectively communicate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across the organization
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Multi-lingual ability a plus.
• Develop and provide solutions for a variety of problems based on established precedents and policies.
