Job Overview
Our client, a respected and growing home builder, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a strong understanding of the homebuilding process.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to the purchasing team including processing bid packages, managing option sheets, and maintaining trade partner/vendor files.
Prepare and distribute project-specific bid packages using standard features and specifications.
Track, update, and analyze monthly cost changes, bids, and budgets to maintain accurate project pricing.
Create and maintain scopes of work and bid documents for new and existing trade partners.
Manage master bid lists and vendor contact databases.
Analyze and process variance purchase orders, change orders, and notices to proceed.
Support with quarterly reporting, unit pricing database management, and cost savings analysis.
Coordinate onboarding for new vendors: applications, insurance, training, and documentation.
Track deliveries, purchase orders, and ensure proper allocation of expenses to budgets.
Resolve invoice discrepancies and research billing issues with trade partners and vendors.
1-2 years of experience in purchasing coordination, construction administration, or similar role; homebuilding industry experience preferred.
Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with homebuilding software such as HB1, Buildertrend, or similar is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, contracts, and scopes of work.
Comfortable managing multiple deadlines, schedules, and priorities in a high-volume environment.
