Billing Clerk
A law firm is seeking a Billing Clerk for their Irvine, Los Angeles, Riverside or Ontario office to support its Billing team through the accurate setup, maintenance, and ongoing administration of client and matter records within the firm's financial management system. This role plays a key part in ensuring data integrity, compliance with firm and client billing guidelines, and the timely processing of routine billing requests and activities.
Responsibilities span client and matter maintenance (creating, updating, and closing records; maintaining hierarchies and billing groups), data integrity and quality control (auditing for accuracy, resolving duplicate or conflicting records), and cross-department collaboration with Accounting, Billing, New Business Intake, Conflicts, Legal Assistants, Attorneys, and IT. The role also supports electronic billing administration, invoice preparation and distribution, year-end initiatives, and departmental reporting and documentation, while upholding confidentiality and internal compliance standards.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred) and one to three years of billing, accounting, or data-maintenance experience, ideally within a law firm. Familiarity with Elite 3E or a comparable legal financial system (Elite Enterprise, Aderant, Pro Law, SurePoint) and electronic billing platforms (Legal Tracker, Counsel Link, Tymetrix) is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer service orientation are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
The salary range is $58,000 - $62,000, non-exempt.
