California Montessori Project (CMP) is a successful public charter school network based in the greater Sacramento area with an exceptional TK-8 Montessori program that is tuition-free and open to all students. The network serves over 3,000 students on seven campuses. CMP is authorized through, and maintains strong relationships with four school districts:
Elk Grove Unified School District, Sacramento City Unified School District, San Juan Unified School District and Buckeye Union School District.
CMP teachers are supported in pursuing dual-certification, holding a Montessori certification from an AMS-accredited training center and a California state credential. The CMP Leadership Team, including the Governing Board, Directors, Principals, and Deans, provide stability and focused guidance to the organization. Summary/ObjectiveThe Administrative Assistant supports campus operational systems, front office operations, student support services, and administrative functions by assisting the Site Operations Coordinator and campus leadership team.
This role serves as a key operational support position responsible for maintaining organized, responsive, student-centered campus operational systems and ensuring effective implementation of daily administrative and operational procedures.
The Administrative Assistant provides lead operational support in the areas of student health systems, front office operations, attendance systems, operational communication, records management, and campus operational coordination while supporting organizational operational expectations and campus implementation needs.
Essential Functions Front Desk Operations & Visitor Management- Serve as the primary front desk contact for students, families, visitors, volunteers, vendors, and community members.
- Maintain a welcoming, professional, and responsive front office environment that supports positive school and family engagement.
- Manage campus visitor access systems, including Raptor visitor management procedures, visitor check-in/check-out processes, and campus access protocols.
- Support implementation of campus visitor, volunteer, and operational safety procedures in alignment with organizational expectations.
- Coordinate communication with families, guests, volunteers, vendors, and campus visitors regarding campus procedures, operational questions, and front office support needs.
- Receive and distribute deliveries, packages, mail, and operational materials.
- Monitor front office activity and support organized, safe, and efficient campus access procedures throughout the school day.
- Support operational communication and customer service efforts that promote positive family and community experiences.
- Serve as the lead support for medication administration documentation, student health plan filing, and student illness communication processes.
- Support implementation of campus health procedures, operational safeguards, and documentation requirements related to student health services.
- Maintain organized and accurate medication records, health documentation systems, and required student health files.
- Coordinate communication with families regarding student illness, medication procedures, and student health needs as directed.
- Support implementation of safe, organized, and student-centered campus operational environments.
- Support implementation of campus safety procedures, emergency protocols, drills, crisis response systems, and operational safeguards.
- Assist with operational follow-through related to risk management systems, safety documentation, and organizational operational procedures.
- Support implementation and tracking of Vector compliance training systems and required operational documentation.
- Coordinate operational communication and follow-through related to campus operational procedures and organizational expectations.
- Maintain awareness of campus operational priorities, implementation needs, and organizational timelines.
