Our client is among the Top Global AI and Robotics Manufacturers.
This is a multi-year contract with high likelihood of conversion to FTE (full-time employment).
Onsite in Irvine CA is required.
SUMMARY:Test Technicians work directly on hardware on the manufacturing or assembly floor. They execute test procedures, flash embedded firmware, troubleshoot faulty assemblies to the component level, and keep testing infrastructure running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Test Execution & Operations: Perform End-of-Line (EOL), incoming quality inspection, and sub-system functional testing on microelectronics, pressure vessels, or autonomous hardware (drones, AUVs, ground sensors).
- Software/Firmware Flashing: Load, configure, and verify software, microcode, and firmware versions onto microcontrollers, SoCs, and memory modules.
- Troubleshooting & Rework: Diagnose complex electromechanical and PCBA issues down to the component level; perform fine-pitch soldering, wire harness repair, and PCBA rework.
- Procedure Optimization & Documentation: Execute step-by-step test instructions, document yield failures in ticketing/tracking systems, and provide feedback to engineers to improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Lab Maintenance: Maintain lab equipment, manage tool calibration schedules, maintain safety standards, and keep ESD/5S compliant work areas.
- Background: High School Diploma or Associate Degree (e.g., Electronics Technology, Avionics, Robotics, Military Electronics Specialist) with 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, defense, or robotics manufacturing.
- Technical Tools: High proficiency with Digital Multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, function generators, bench power supplies, and harness testing tools.
- Certifications (Preferred): IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).

Skills:
Ability to strictly adhere to engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical assembly drawings. - OPTIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
