SummaryThe Supervisor - Inland Procurement will support and directly manage procurement practices for all business departments at GLOVIS America, Inc. This position handles supplier management, cost-saving initiatives, RFx management, alignment of work-scope, contract negotiations, support for new business implementation, and improvements in supplier quality. Duties include vendor evaluations, market studies, regulatory considerations, and managing supplier relationships for best procurement practices.
Responsibilities- Supplier Management and general oversight of procurement across departments and external supply chain processes
- RFx Process Management: develop and manage strategic sourcing for domestic logistics services (transportation, warehousing, and distribution)
- Ensure RFx documents are accurate, comprehensive, and issued to appropriate vendors within deadlines
- Vendor Sourcing & Selection
- Lead and/or support the development and execution of negotiation plans and strategies
- Identify, evaluate, and assess potential domestic logistics suppliers (e.g., trucking companies, warehousing services, facilities, regulatory compliance)
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements to secure competitive and cost-effective terms
- Contract Administration: review procedures for drafting, amending, negotiating, and securing contracts
- Draft clear contracts that align with objectives, covering pricing, scope of services, and terms
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and procurement teams to ensure contracts comply with internal policies and regulations
- Maintain accurate contract records, including expiration and renewal dates and related documents
- Vendor Performance Monitoring: evaluate vendor performance using KPIs and internal feedback
- Identify and implement corrective actions for underperforming vendors
- Lead or support Quarterly Business Reviews (Q ) with vendors
- Market Research & Trend Analysis: stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes; conduct market research to identify cost optimization opportunities
- Reporting & Data Analysis: prepare regular management reports on logistics performance, vendor status, and cost analysis
- Risk Management & Compliance: ensure vendors comply with laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
work with sales and operations to align logistics strategies with company goals - Supervision and training of procurement activities and staff development
- Supplier Relationship Management: build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with key vendors
- Drive procurement planning, control, and accountability with business groups
- Other duties as assigned
$74,000-$84,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
