Job Title
Sr Import/Export Analyst – MKS Instruments
Job SummarySupport trade compliance initiatives by managing HTS and ECCN classification, qualifying goods under FTAs such as USMCA, GSP, KORUS, ILFTA, ensuring compliance with EAR, ITAR and other export controls. Respond to CBP inquiries (CF‑28/CF‑29), conduct import audits for duty recovery, manage the ACE portal and denied party screening, and collaborate cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, and Engineering to align trade compliance processes.
Responsibilities- Manage global HTS classification and export license requirements.
- Work with engineering and stakeholders to determine technical requirements for appropriate HTS codes.
- Review product documents, diagrams and specifications to identify HTS and preferential trade qualifications.
- Respond to customs inquiries and requests from partner agencies.
- Provide data analysis to improve trade compliance program integrity and efficiency, including auditing trade data for accuracy and potential duty recoveries.
- Maintain compliance with MKS global trade compliance policies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in trade compliance, export or import operations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance or related field.
- Expertise in classifying Harmonized System codes accurately.
- Ability to qualify goods for preferential trade agreements.
- Experience responding to customs inquiries (CF‑28, CF‑29).
- Proficiency analyzing and auditing import trade data for accuracy and duty recovery.
- Customs broker license a plus.
Hybrid work schedule. Based within commuting distance of Irvine, CA; remote candidates considered if qualifications match.
TravelUp to 10% travel.
Compensation & BenefitsAnnual salary $75,000–$110,000. Discretionary annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays, sick time, 15 paid vacation days, parental leave, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.
