About The Role

The Community Impact Officer serves as a key liaison between the bank and community organizations across the footprint who contributes to the achievement of the bank’s community impact goals, Community Reinvestment Act compliance and Community Benefits Agreement goals. This role supports community impact strategies, manages philanthropic and economic development initiatives, and identifies opportunities to expand lending and investment in underserved markets.

  • Represent the bank in community and economic development activities, building relationships with nonprofits, government agencies, and low and moderate income and majority minority communities.
  • Lead and support community impact, CRA and Community Benefits Agreement related campaigns and efforts and outreach strategies.
  • Supports community impact data analysis and tasks related to audit and compliance exams.
  • Act as business development/referral source in large, complex and/or highly sensitive target market areas by identifying and referring business lending opportunities and helping design or create processes that stimulate increased opportunities in low to moderate income communities.
  • Facilitate policies and procedures for planning and implementing high-impact philanthropic, and community development programs.
  • Provide strategic planning and market analysis across assigned regions.
  • Manage Regional Community Impact Leadership Committees to ensure equitable, targeted philanthropic investments focused on achieving community impact strategy, CRA and Community Benefit Agreement Goals.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and improvement of programs that target LMI (low-to moderate income) individuals, families and communities. This includes sourcing, analyzing and the structuring of bank investments in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), Small Business Investment Corporations (SBIC), equity investments, community development philanthropic grants and program related investments (PRI).
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination including the SAFE Act, the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), their implementing regulations (Regulations G and Z), and SAFE Act registration and renewal rules as defined by the bank.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
