Your impact

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect with Research Lab experience to join our growing team in the Orange County/San Diego area. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual with excellent communication skills who can apply knowledge of Architectural and Lab design
, construction detailing, construction administration, building codes, as well as building materials through all phases of design and construction. Coordinates all project efforts in order to ensure effective execution, prepares strategic plans, and serves as primary client liaison.

Please note This is a hybrid position and will require you to be in the office 2-3 days a week typically with travel to construction site locations in Southern California on a regular basis.

• Coordinate all project efforts to ensure effective execution and serve as the primary client liaison.
• Prepare strategic plans for projects and manage design and construction through all phases.
• Lead architectural and lab design development, detailing, and construction administration in accordance with codes and standards.
• Apply knowledge of building materials, systems, and integration of building services, core, and envelope elements.
• Lead “warm-shell” interior fit-out projects with a core & shell/developer team.
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment including ground-up and Tenant Improvement projects.
• Maintain proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination workflows; strong organizational and communication skills; leadership abilities.

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Licensed Architect (California license strongly preferred; NCARB with reciprocity considered).
• 20+ years of professional experience, with a focus on laboratory facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in science and research projects.
• Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with BIM coordination workflows.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and leadership abilities.
• In-depth understanding of building codes and their application to R&D Lab projects.
• Understanding of building materials, systems, and methods of construction and specifications.
• Understanding of integration of building services, building core, and envelope elements.
• Experience leading warm-shell interior fit-out projects in collaboration with core & shell/developer teams.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative project environment including ground-up and Tenant Improvement projects.

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
