Architectural Job Captain – EducationWe are currently seeking an energetic, confident, and highly motivated candidate to join our Irvine, CA office. The role reports to a senior project team member and involves technical design leadership for major or multiple small projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet client needs.
This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our Irvine, CA office.
What You Will Do- Provide professional architectural consultation from Design Development through building permit submission and Construction Administration.
- Apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.
- Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Monitor budgets and schedules and maintain project documentation.
- Submit reports and specifications as requested.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff.
- Supervise technical staff and redline others’ work as required.
- Proficiency in building codes, understanding of product types and how code determines construction.
- Strong skills in production of construction drawings, from start to finish.
- Expertise in Sketch Up, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM;
Adobe Design Suite experience preferred. - Experience working in construction phases of projects.
- Self‑motivated ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate with other design professionals.
- Excellent problem‑solving, independent thinking, good listening, and strong follow‑through.
- Excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to effectively and positively provide direction and lead architectural staff.
- 4+ years of experience, with at least 2 years as a job captain.
- California K‑12 experience required; DSA experience required.
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture required.
- Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States.
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
- Experience coordinating with U.S.
-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies. - Commitment to professional growth; preferably obtaining licensure as an architect.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Salary range: $80,000–$90,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a pre‑tax Flexible Spending Plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and 401(k).
