We are seeking a landscape manager to work collaboratively with a highly talented and diverse team to create and maintain best in class landscapes for the Irvine Company Office Properties (ICOP). The Landscape team serves our Operations Teams by managing and maintaining award winning, Class A office landscapes. As a result we cultivate vibrant workplace communities that support retention and leasing efforts.

The ideal candidate thrives in an agile environment and has a passion for the science and the art of creating beautiful outdoor spaces. The ICOP Landscape Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day support of the Landscape department, and helps ensure the achievement of its goals.

• Supports day-to-day leadership and collaboration of the landscape department as well as the supervision of maintenance contractors/vendors at each assigned property.
• Works closely with the Director of Landscape Maintenance and Landscape Managers to ensure the Landscape Department meets and exceeds the expectations of the company.
• Prepares written and verbal reports on financial results. Ensures all capital and funds are committed and invoiced in a timely manner.
• Works closely with the Director of Landscape and Landscape Managers on strategies to help achieve financial results.
• Works closely with the internal Design, Reinvestment and Development teams on landscaping projects
• May be responsible for Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Jose Office Communities. The position may require travel to San Jose and San Diego.
• Works closely with the internal Operations Teams on implementing and scheduling landscape related repairs. Develops annual budgets and manages annual contracts.
• Performs monthly on site visits and inspections at assigned properties and provides feedback to Operations managers and contractors/vendors to ensure overall landscape maintenance meets ICOP quality specifications and contract specifications. Horticultural practices should meet or exceed established industry standards and best practices.
• Develops requests for proposal (RFP), Requests for approval (RFA) and drafts landscape maintenance and major repair and enhancement contracts.
• Administrates and reviews the monthly water allocation program.
• Prepares reports as to the condition of the landscape at each assigned office property and develops action plans for correction of deficiencies.
• Supports processes and programs for identifying, qualifying, and utilizing competent new contractors/vendors in a cost effective manner.
• Works closely with the Director of Landscape Maintenance and Landscape Managers in exploring innovative ideas and creating best practices in order to meet the changing needs of the department.
• If assigned a direct report then goal setting, development and training of that individual would be a part of your responsibility as well.

• Three to seven years’ experience in landscape management or similar industry background. Some or all of this time should be specifically in commercial landscape management
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in managing customer relationships
• Experience in managing contractor and vendor relationships
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Proven initiative and ability to champion a project from conception through implementation
• Experience with strategic planning and forecasting
• Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills. Ability to appropriately adjust communication style for internal and external audiences.
