As an Architectural Design & Job Captain, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial, civic, transportation, aviation, healthcare, science & technology, and advanced facilities.

Working alongside Project Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary design teams, you'll help lead project production, coordinate technical documentation, and contribute to design excellence from concept through construction administration. This role is ideal for an experienced architectural professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take ownership of project execution while developing future leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support Project Architects and Project Managers in the planning, design, and delivery of architectural projects.
  • Lead day-to-day production and coordination of construction documents across multiple project phases.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, specifications, design presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialty consultants to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Assist in managing project schedules, deliverables, budgets, and quality control requirements.
  • Conduct technical reviews and ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings, design workshops, and consultant coordination sessions.
  • Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and field documentation.
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and assist with technical development initiatives within the studio.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, digital delivery, and best practices.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 5-8 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Experience producing construction documents and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit and BIM workflows.
  • Working knowledge of California and/or West Coast building codes, accessibility requirements, and permitting processes.
  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing, building systems, and construction methods.
  • Experience coordinating directly with engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Licensed Architect or actively pursuing architectural licensure.
  • Experience with aviation, federal, transportation, healthcare, science & technology, or civic infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • LEED Accredited Professional, WELL AP, or sustainability-related credentials.

The base salary range for this position is $79,900.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
