The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Irvine is seeking a board certified clinician with expertise in neurointerventional surgery for all ranks in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) and all ranks in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor). Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series
The incumbent will be expected to provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. The potential for excellence in teaching is an essential criterion for appointment in this series.
All ranks will be expected to have a record of substantial research; lead or have significant intellectual and substantive contribution to a research program and/or be involved in other creative activities. Creative activity may be highly integrated into clinical activities. May include clinical-translational projects, health services/health outcomes research, case series, educational scholarship, or bench research.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Series Professor Series
Health Sciences Clinical Professor series faculty engage in scholarly or creative activity which derives from and support their primary responsibilities in clinical teaching and professional and service activities.
Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic career with expertise in neurointerventional surgery will be given the opportunity to grow in a dynamic department. This subspecialty will be part of the UCI Health's growing comprehensive stroke program. The department provides care in UCI Health clinical locations.
