Your Role on the Team Under the supervision of the Primary Caregiver, assistant teachers help plan the day for infants and implement, on a daily basis, a plan for learning relevant to the needs, abilities and interests of the children.

Required:

Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program. Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field. Ability to work with and be sensitive to a culturally diverse community.

Ability to relate to children as individuals in small and large groups. Ability to plan, organize and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for school aged children. Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility. Knowledgeable of NAEYC Accreditation Criteria. Effective communication skills, both with children and adults. 3 units of Infant Toddler coursework Current First Aid and CPR certifications/cards Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent to a minimum of 2 years working in a center-based environment Associate Teacher Permit or higher Preferred: 6 or more units of Infant Toddler coursework Conditions of Employment:
