STUDENT SUPERVISION AIDE
OverviewImmediate hire positions at various school sites. Work schedule ranges from 2:00 hours per day to 4:00 hours per day. The eligibility list will remain in effect for one year and will be used to fill all current and new vacancies during that period.
Responsibilities- Supervise students in playgrounds, lunchrooms, cafeteria, recess, and other school areas during noon hour, breakfast programs, and occasionally before and after school.>
- Assist with student supervision at street crossings and provide crossing guard support at assigned intersections.
- Enforce district and school policies and rules, and report special behavior problems.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student behavior and handle all matters in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
- Observe lunchtime and playground courtesies, assist students in following safety rules, and maintain order and discipline.
- Assist in developing a positive environment that encourages student learning and safety.
- Education and Experience: Any combination of paid or volunteer experience working with children in educational or child‑care settings. Equivalent training that provides desired knowledge and abilities may be considered.
- Licenses and Requirements: None required, but Crossing Guard Training is desired.
- Knowledge of: Effective communication with administration and students, handling large groups, writing short reports and referrals, basic safety rules, first aid principles, emergency assistance procedures, motivational techniques, and standards of courtesy for students.
- Abilities: Ability to supervise students, apply district and school policies with good judgment, maintain order and discipline using effective strategies, understand and carry out written and oral instructions, serve as a positive role model, handle confidential matters tactfully, and establish effective working relationships.
- May participate in district professional development opportunities as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the principal.

Written testing is scheduled for Wednesday walk‑in testing from 10 am to 3:00 pm at the EL Camino Campus, 320 N J St, Lompoc, CA. Use the double gate on Laurel St for parking. Testing is conducted in Room 20.
