Position Overview
The compensation for this appointment ranges from $30,000 to $90,000 per semester, depending on the number of courses taught, the semestering of courses, qualifications, and experience. The minimum pay at appointment is determined by rank and/or step on the UC salary scales.
Salary Range: $30,000 – $90,000 per semester.
Successful candidates will be appointed either a Visiting Assistant Professor or a Visiting Professor for the 2026/2027 academic year to teach environmental and property law surveys:
- Teach a 3‑unit Environmental Law survey course.
- Teach a 3‑unit (or 4‑unit) Property Law survey course.
- Teach both surveys together (units to be determined at the time of hiring).
- Hold a J.D. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Be affiliated with the faculty of another law school.
- Have teaching experience in Environmental Law and/or Property Law.
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching.
- Curriculum Vitae – most recently updated C.V.
- Cover Letter
- Reflective Teaching and Mentoring Statement – guidance available for writing a reflective teaching statement.
- Statement of Research – optional.
- References – 3 to 5 required.
