Position: Bilingual Academic Advisor (Korean/English)

Novel Prep is looking for a bilingual Academic Advisor to serve as a key partner for students and families navigating the U.S. education system. In this role, you will provide personalized guidance, help students set clear academic goals, and support parents through consistent communication and recommendations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring students, building strong family relationships, and connecting learners with the right academic resources and programs.

What You’ll Do
  • Meet one-on-one with students and parents to discuss academic goals, challenges, and progress
  • Help students map out course plans and create practical strategies for academic success
  • Monitor performance and provide ongoing coaching and support
  • Explain academic options, enrichment programs, and educational services that align with each student’s needs
  • Guide families through college preparation and long-term educational planning
  • Serve as a liaison between families, teachers, and internal staff to ensure coordinated support
  • Maintain organized records, notes, and progress updates for each student
  • Deliver clear and culturally responsive communication in both Korean and English
What We’re Looking For
  • Fluency in Korean and English (verbal and written)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Education, Counseling, Psychology, or similar
  • Experience working with students or families in advising, counseling, tutoring, or educational settings
  • Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working in a multicultural environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple students effectively
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with U.S. K–12 or college admissions processes
  • Experience supporting international or first-generation families
  • Background in private education or academic enrichment programs
