Position Overview
The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for two non‑tenure‑track post‑doctoral positions in Mathematics. These are 3‑year, titled positions involving research and teaching.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field and be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.
ResponsibilitiesResearch activities in algebraic, complex, or differential geometry and topology, with emphasis on the theory of existence and regularity of geometric PDEs, moduli spaces of canonical geometries, and the arithmetic and topology of complex varieties. Teaching duties of no more than three quarter classes per year. Provide research support for conference travel and other needs.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field by employment start date.
- Strong promise in research and teaching.
- Experience in geometry and topology, especially in the areas highlighted above.
- U.S. citizenship, national, or permanent residency.
Full‑time annual salary starting at $74,600, subject to UC salary scales. Positions funded by the department’s NSF‑supported “Southern California Geometry and Topology Center.”
