APEuropean History Teacher Responsibilities
- Teach AP European History classes and help students build a strong understanding of major historical periods, key events, and long-term developments in European history
- Guide students in mastering AP exam requirements, including document analysis, historical argumentation, and academic writing
- Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ learning needs and academic goals
- Assign and review homework, essays, and practice work, and provide timely feedback to students and parents when needed
- Support students in improving critical thinking, historical reasoning, and exam-taking strategies
- Contribute to curriculum planning and instructional improvement when necessary
- Strong academic background in history, especially European or world history
- Familiarity with the AP European History curriculum and exam format
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, especially in AP-level courses
- Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills
- Responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain complex historical concepts clearly
- Passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate students
- Experience preparing students for the AP European History exam
- Familiarity with DBQ, LEQ, and SAQ instruction
- Background in history, education, humanities, or a related field
- Overseas academic experience is a plus
