COSTUME DESIGN LECTURER SEARCH
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE – CLAIRE TREVOR SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, DEPARTMENT OF DRAMA.
The Department of Drama is establishing a search of qualified applicants for a position as part‑time lecturer during the 2026-27 academic year in the curriculum area of Costume Design.
The department seeks applicants to teach an undergraduate Introduction to Costume Design course, a graduate level class in historical costume design, a mixed‑level drawing course that includes costume rendering and some figure drawing, and a mixed level studio course in millinery.
An MFA, or commensurate experience in Drama/Theater Arts is required. At least 3 years' experience as a costume designer or costume professional is required.
Candidates must develop and teach courses in costume design, drawing or millinery that create engaging and innovative lesson plans integrating theory and practice in costume design. Commitment to teaching, training, and working in a university environment is required. Candidates should show a demonstrated ability and commitment to work effectively with a diverse student population.
