Position Description

Title:

Stage Management Lecturer (Part‑time, 2026‑27 Academic Year).
Department:
Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Department of Drama, University of California, Irvine.
Students will be taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in stage management, including but not limited to introductory and graduate-level projects. Instruction may be delivered in person, hybrid, or online.

Courses
  • Undergraduate:
    Drama 50E or 50K – Introduction to Stage Management (schedule TBD)
  • Graduate:
    Drama 240 – Graduate Projects (mentoring SM teams)
  • Graduate:
    Drama 254 – Graduate Stage Management (Spring 2027, further details to be defined)
Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled classes or deliver online content in accordance with UCI, CTSA, and Department of Drama policies.
  • Teach assigned courses aligned with the established syllabus and learning objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student learning, including grading.
  • Be accessible to students in person or electronically to provide additional academic support.
  • Adhere to university‑wide policies for student evaluations of instruction and peer observations.
Qualifications

An MFA or commensurate experience in Drama/Stage Management is required. Candidates should have at least 3 years of college‑level teaching experience and 3 years of professional stage‑management experience. A strong record of inclusive excellence and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population are essential.
