California Alliance for Minority Participation
Since 1991, the California Alliance for Minority Participation has worked across the nine undergraduate campuses of the University of California to boost the number of students from underrepresented groups who earn degrees in science, technology, engineering and math. The goal of CAMP is to diversify the STEM workforce, including expanding pathways for students entering graduate school and the professoriate. Funded partially by the National Science Foundation, CAMP provides students across the UCs with conference sponsorship, undergraduate research opportunity support, mentorship, and a strong community.
The project is also aimed at advancing research that is focused on examining the experience of students in STEM and identifying ways to enhance support.

Your Role on the TeamAs the liaison of the California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) Statewide Director (SD), the CAMP Statewide Coordinator is responsible for supporting the SD through a combination of project management, writing and presenting, and high level administrative and partnership relationship support functions. Coordinates and implements projects to support CAMP Statewide multi-campus efforts. The CAMP Statewide Coordinator is a highly impactful, leadership role under the umbrella of Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE).
This position requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in program development, stakeholder engagement, and a deep commitment to inclusive excellence within STEM fields. They will also be the lead for planning the annual CAMP Statewide Symposium and will assist in the planning and execution of the UC CAMP system-wide advisory board, composed of industry leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.

Required:
- Ability to work with a diverse group at all levels of the organization including faculty, staff, students and educational and community partners. Strong sense of ethical conduct that will inspire confidence and motivation.
- Strong organizational skills to multi-task and coordinate events with demanding time frames and keen attention to detail and accuracy to maintain records, prepare reports and ensure compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft and Office software programs, with intermediate skills in Excel and database systems and other digital tools required.
- Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on higher education policies and issues. Strong policy analysis techniques to assess their impact on program strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- A minimum of 5 years of experience
Program development, implementation and evaluation - A minimum of 3 years of experience
Progressive leadership experience
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge and experience working in STEM education and pathway development, implementation and evaluation.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
Higher education administration
