The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering periodically seeks temporary, part-time Lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following areas:
- Environmental and Energy systems
- Hydrology and Water Resources
- Structures, Geotechnics, and Materials
- Transportation Systems
Candidates who can teach across multiple analysis and design courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels are especially encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university
- Demonstrated, effective teaching experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required for candidates teaching design-related courses
This is an open, ongoing applicant pool used to fill part-time Lecturer positions as they arise. Submitting an application does not guarantee an available position; applications are reviewed as departmental teaching needs occur.
Fall Quarter begins September 21, 2026 and ends December 11, 2026.
Winter Quarter begins January 4, 2027 and ends March 19, 2027.
Spring Quarter begins March 24, 2027 and ends June 11, 2027.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and/or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
