Your Role on the Team
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support outreach and engagement efforts to increase awareness of Basic Needs services and the Cal Fresh Program among students and the campus community.
- Develop and coordinate outreach campaigns, educational materials, and communications tailored to specific programs and student populations.
- Promote and coordinate Cal Fresh application assistance services and support activities designed to increase student access to available resources.
- Support the training, development, and coordination of Cal Fresh Student Advocates and assist with related educational and outreach activities.
- Collect, track, and analyze outreach and engagement data to evaluate program impact and support partnership goals with the county social services agency.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Knowledge of the Cal Fresh Program, particularly eligibility and services applicable to college students.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and engaging educational and outreach materials.
- Ability to coordinate multiple outreach activities, collaborate effectively with campus and community partners, and work with diverse student populations.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Preferred:
- Experience providing outreach, education, or program support in a higher education, community services, or student services environment.
- Experience with Cal Fresh outreach, application assistance, public benefits programs, or basic needs services.
- Experience developing awareness campaigns, presentations, educational materials, or other communications for specific audiences.
- Experience training, mentoring, or coordinating student employees, volunteers, or peer advocates.
- Experience collecting, tracking, and analyzing program or outreach data using Excel or similar tools.
