OverviewSalary Range
$25.00 - $26.00 Hourly
Description Role and Function:Faculty Member
- 1. Faculty members will teach assigned courses.
- 2. Faculty members will incorporate, understand, and utilize technology.
- a. Faculty members will implement instructional technology.
- b. Faculty members will use our implemented course management and student information systems.
- c. Faculty members will proactively seek opportunities to better understand and use technology as a tool to enhance student learning.
- 3. Faculty members will follow the implemented Professional Learning and Development Plan.
- 4. Faculty members will appropriately plan and prepare for learning:
- a. Faculty members will serve as champions for their areas of expertise:
- i. Faculty members will research best practices and research related to their area(s) of teaching.
- ii. Faculty members will actively seek continually improvement in their knowledge of subject matter.
- iii. Faculty members will investigate and advocate for new courses that will benefit students and student learning.
- b. Faculty members will align lesson, unit, and other plans with appropriate school and state goals and standards.
- c. Faculty members will embed essential questions, assessments, and objectives into relevant lessons and units, and promote learning through real-world application.
- d. Faculty members will appropriately and adequately map their curriculum according to CLHS’ adopted plan.
- 5. Faculty members will perform at an acceptable level in the area of “Classroom Management”:
- a. Faculty members will be Christ-centered in their interactions with students.
- b. Faculty members will promote positive and Christ-centered interactions student and student-teacher interactions in the classroom.
- c. Faculty members will communicate and enforce high standards for student behavior and promote self-discipline on the part of students.
- 6. Faculty members will perform at an acceptable level in the area of “Delivery of Instruction”:
- a. Faculty members will present material from a Christian worldview.
- b. Faculty members will exude high expectations and promote confidence and mastery of the material.
- c. Faculty members shall share goals and rubrics with students while hooking student interest and making connections to prior knowledge.
- d. Faculty members will orchestrate effective strategies, materials, and groupings to involve, engage, and motivate all students while encouraging them to be active learners and problem solvers.
- 7. Faculty members will monitor, assess, and follow-up with students:
- a. Faculty members will use a variety of formative, interim, and summative assessments to track student learning during the lesson, throughout the course of a unit, and throughout each semester.
- b. Faculty members will positively recognize student accomplishments and follow-up with struggling students in an effort to assist them in reaching proficiency.
- 8. Faculty members will communicate effectively with students, families, and the community:
- a. Faculty members will communicate with parents, students, and fellow staff members on a timely basis:
- i. Responses to student and parent emails and phone calls must occur within twenty-four hours of having received them.
- ii. Responses to fellow staff members must occur within twenty-four hours unless it is agreed that an alternate timetable is appropriate.
- iii. Office hours are required for all full-time faculty members.
- 9. Faculty members will effectively and appropriately collaborate with peers:
- a. Faculty members will conduct themselves appropriately in collaborative team meetings and in other peer interactions.
- b. Faculty members will adhere to appropriate team norms.
- a. Faculty members will keep grade books accurate and updated:
- i. Grades for all assignments, excluding assignments determined by administration to be in need of extensions (e.g. major projects and formal research papers), are to be updated in the school’s digital grade books before Monday each week.
