Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor with expertise in child language development, autism, and/or school-age language and literacy
, for its Master of Science program in Communication Sciences and Disorders, at the rank of Non-Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2027.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is located on the Rinker Health Science campus in Irvine, CA. This campus is designed to foster an inter-professional educational environment and to use cutting edge technology in teaching and practice. The campus features state of the art facilities, including a human cadaver anatomy laboratory, advanced learning center with innovative technology, Grand Rounds auditorium with 3

Dprojection capabilities, multi-sized classrooms, a medical library, and collaborative work centers. The campus is home to several accredited graduate health science professional programs, including Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Master of Science Physician Assistant Studies, and Doctor of Pharmacy. The Rinker campus is strategically located near healthcare institutions, medical device manufacturers, and biopharmaceutical companies.

The CSD department is seeking a colleague who is experienced, dynamic, collaborative, and an effective instructor; one who will provide our students with state-of-the-art academic and practice-based clinical knowledge, and build upon the currently existing network in the community, schools, private practices, and hospital settings. As a Master of Science graduate degree program, the CSD department is accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

The CSD department is associated with numerous school districts, private practices, and medical centers that provide services to individuals with communication disorders across the lifespan. The diversity of Southern California is reflected in the CSD student cohorts, where 55% of students self-identify as members of racial or ethnic minority communities. • Teach courses in child language development, autism, school-age language and literacy and/or clinical practicum. Depending on expertise and interest, there is an opportunity to teach Capstone course, for which students complete a research project in their graduating year.
• Provide regular service expected from a full-time faculty member.
