As the Release Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a global engineering operations team function that will maintain vehicle software updates and fleet health data for not only today’s adventures but tomorrow’s as well. Specifically, this role will manage, monitor, and support vehicle software update campaigns and associated fleet health management data. This role is situated meaningfully within vehicle software engineering with cross‑functional visibility and is a ground floor opportunity to revolutionize the connected car segment through development of streamlined and automated processes for managing vehicle software updates.

• Ensure robust software update support for all consumer/commercial vehicles by proactively managing software updates and anomalies across Rivian’s global fleet.
• Assist and track OTA software update campaigns and associated processes across Rivian’s global fleet.
• Deploy, design, and implement analytics solutions using technology and deploy innovative offerings that facilitate fleet health user experience for software updates.
• Responsible for predicting, testing, and validating OTA and vehicle telematics solutions, end to end in partnership with Rivian Engineering and other teams.
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, design to onboard and validate new OTA integrations, solutions, and features prior to releasing to production.
• Perform data analysis to maintain and monitor fleet health across the Rivian fleet.

• 3+ years working as a technical/operations engineer within the IoT, fleet management/wireless/networking, or connected car/EV industries.
• Experience with IoT solutions that involve complex OTA campaigns, fleet management software lifecycle management.
• Experience with automated data analysis and Big Data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake/Redshift).
• Experience with scripting in Python/PySpark, JavaScript or automation in similar languages.
• Experience writing SQL queries to support business intelligence objectives.
• Experience with AWS/cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
• Strong cross‑functional experience with engineering, design, and service/customer support.

Salary Range / Hourly Rate for Palo Alto Applicants: $105,100 - $131,400 USD.
Salary Range / Hourly Rate for Irvine Based Applicants: $96, USD.
The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Any posted salary range pertains only to the estimated starting pay for the role. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education and location.

Full‑time employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part‑time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
