As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you may have the opportunity to:

• Support a variety of substation projects ranging up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)
• Develop protection and control design deliverables including protective relays, panel arrangements, one line/single line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring and equipment wiring within high voltage substation designs
• Develop physical design deliverables including yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems within high voltage substation designs
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction
• Correspond with clients, vendors and subcontractors
• Potential travel opportunities to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification
• Adhere to and/or prepare design budgets and schedules
• Perform QA/QC responsibilities
• Provide support to business development or pursuit activities

This opportunity is located in Irvine, CA.

• Continues to learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures, applying them as appropriate
• Continues developing and can independently apply knowledge, complying with B&V quality program and supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts
• Prepares a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables, performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection, collects and manages data for engineering work, prepares complex calculations, and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. May recognize, define, and resolve problems within assigned area and provide direction to others
• Assigns tasks to develop entry level professionals and interns, coordinates with project leadership and other team members on less complex projects, and interacts as needed with other disciplines on design details
• Works to understand external client interests and drivers through regular interaction and communication, focusing also on internal client and project leadership needs; may provide support to business development or pursuit activities
• Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes
• As skills develop, may assist with performance management, recognition, corrective actions, and actively mentors entry level professionals and interns

• High voltage (HV) substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls
• Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT) Certification
• Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (accredited program in home country or country of practice) and a minimum of 1 year related work experience. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
