Site Civil Engineer – Los AngelesJoin our multidisciplinary team supporting high‑impact data center, commercial, institutional, and mission‑critical facility projects. You will shape the civil backbone of some of the most complex and essential infrastructure being built today.
What You’ll Do- Design and coordinate site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and paving for large‑scale campuses and building sites
- Prepare technical reports and calculations (stormwater, earthwork, sewer/water demand)
- Support permitting and zoning reviews for local and state agencies
- Develop construction documents and technical specifications
- Provide technical leadership and act as a project engineer or specialist on mid‑size facility‑focused projects
- 3+ years of civil site design experience, preferably on data center, healthcare, industrial, or institutional building sites
- Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D (earthwork, surfaces, profiles)
- Familiarity with Open Flows or similar stormwater tools a plus
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture is a must
