Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced, design-focused environment. This position is based in our San Diego, CA office.

Salary: $137,000-$175,000

Level: Senior

• Lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers; demonstrate project management skills.
• Manage multiple large-scale projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants; provide mentorship to design engineers.
• Prepare proposals independently for clients and contribute to business development with new and existing clients.
• Perform field surveys for design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports (Pre-Design Engineering).
• Design power single line and riser diagrams; perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM.
• Lighting fixtures and power equipment selection; perform lighting and power circuiting; design and coordinate the lighting control system.
• Prepare fire alarm device layout based on the International Fire Code and NFPA 72; design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations.
• Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details; understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards.
• Have a working knowledge of the California Electrical Code and Energy Standards to design medium voltage and low voltage electrical systems.
• Coordinate among disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, architectural) and work closely with the design team; edit specifications for projects.
• Review and respond to RFIs; review equipment submittals; perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports (Construction Administration).

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer License required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience preferred; PM experience preferred.
• Ability to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers; strong project management skills.
• Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
• Familiar with HCAI requirements.
• Self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, able to identify underlying issues, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Prior healthcare/hospitals building experience is advantageous.
