Military Flight Controls Division – Parker Aerospace supports aircraft worldwide. MFCD provides primary and secondary flight control systems used in commercial and military applications, including Jet Pipe electrohydraulic servo valve (EHSV) technology. The division is headquartered in Irvine, California, and is a global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products.
Position SummaryWith minimum supervision, responsible for engineering technical duties requiring a high degree of accuracy in Electronics, Mechanical, and Customer Support functions.
Responsibilities- ELECTRONIC – Devise, improvise, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and instrumentation setups using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, oscillographs, and X-Y recorders.
- ELECTRONIC – Set up and operate data acquisition computers, process control systems, microprocessor applications, and automatic test equipment.
- ELECTRONIC – Apply rudimentary LabVIEW knowledge for data acquisition test consoles and systems; demonstrate a solid understanding of electronic principles.
- ELECTRONIC – Read and interpret electronic schematics from system to component level.
- ELECTRONIC – Use electronic hand tools (soldering/desoldering irons, wire strippers, wire crimpers); perform fine soldering techniques for through-hole and SMT.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Perform technical maintenance on moderately complex to complex electronic systems and components.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Plan and coordinate investigations into customer reports of technical product or service problems; review performance trends and documentation regarding malfunctioning or damaged products.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Provide on-site technical assistance as needed; may perform rework or inspection of Parker’s fielded hardware.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Maintain and analyze detailed performance and maintenance service records.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Instruct customers on operation, use, and maintenance of equipment; ensure accuracy of work instructions and service bulletins.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Facilitate coordination with OEM divisions to complete corrective actions.
- SPECIALTIES – Knowledge of PCs and PXI-based controllers; familiarity with Windows OS and related software; basic hands-on LabVIEW hardware/software.
- SPECIALTIES – Understanding of digital devices (DSPs, FPGAs, PLA, BGA, EPROMS, logic gates) and analog circuit knowledge.
- SPECIALTIES – Experience with electronic hand tools, SMT soldering tools, bread boarding, and soldering certification to J-STD-001.
- SPECIALTIES – Ability to communicate technically in writing and verbally; proficient use of lab and test equipment; ESD knowledge and certification.
- SPECIALTIES – Maintain up-to-date qualification data and daily project logbooks; propose new techniques, systems, and preventive maintenance to improve efficiency.
- SPECIALTIES – Recommend equipment purchases/usage; interface with design engineering, process manufacturing, quality control, and vendors.

Qualifications- Five years related experience, trade or military training, or demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and procedures.
- Basic PC and electronic console skills where applicable.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Personal hand tools may be required.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
