Senior Geologist

Senior Staff Geologist (Irvine, CA) [SSSG-IRV] Job Description

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an opening for a Senior Staff Engineering Geologist to perform field evaluations, including logging and sampling borings and test pits, observation and documentation of distressed structures, site reconnaissance and geologic mapping, percolation testing, installation of inclinometers, and geophysical surveys. Duties of the Staff/Senior Staff Geologist will also include assisting project managers with the accumulation and compilation of geotechnical and geological data, preparing geologic cross sections, acquiring permits from public agencies, reviewing and interpreting aerial photographs, coordinating with and scheduling subcontractors, performing geological analysis and writing geotechnical reports.

B.A./B.S. in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related field.

The successful candidate should have 3+ years field experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member. Knowledge of engineering geology of Southern California is a plus. This is not an environmental geologist or scientist position.
